This week was busy preparing for the school opening liturgy on Wednesday! Thank you to all parents who came out to join us. We also had a presentation from the school nurse this morning, who was explaining about the vaccinations students will be getting - the first round two weeks from today!
In LA this week we have been working on writing a small moment, a period of about a minute or less in time, that is stretched out into a descriptive paragraph for the reader. We will hopefully be finishing them next week and getting them on the wall for everyone to read!
Math we worked a lot on rounding, and practiced rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand and ten thousand. This skill helps with estimating sums or differences if students can correctly round.
Social we started looking at an overview of the six regions of Canada. We found out that we live in the Interior Plains, and will be learning more about each region as the unit progresses.
In Science we have been learning how to correctly read a thermometer - which as we found out can be very tricky when it comes to temperatures below zero.
Lastly, the photo below is our latest art project, that lends to the community we are building in our classroom!
