We have spent most of our time this week working on our plant reports! Students picked a plant of their choice and researched it, putting it into a report with multiple paragraphs - their first attempt at this kind of writing! Students have been working hard, and some have completed their projects.
We have been learning about plants in science and today we had the opportunity to explore seeds and how they are dispersed in the Jubilee Garden. We had the zoo here to teach us different ways seeds travel and then we got to go explore and find some!
In Social we have been learning about early settlers to Alberta. This has been particularly interesting to me as my mom's side of the family was an early settler! It was neat to get to show students pictures and share my own family history with them. I asked students to go home today and have conversations with you about where your families are from!
We were very fortunate to have Lord Strathcona's Musical Ride here at our school this afternoon! What a beautiful afternoon to see part of Canada's culture! It tied in really well to the social studies we have been learning about too.
