Before the food drive, we had made a bet with Mr. Lee's class that the losing class had to write a poem for the winning class about how good they are, to be read over the intercom. While the race was close, and we only lost by a little bit, we had to pay up! Here is the poem that we wrote today for them.
A challenge you proposed,
A win we thought we could get,
The week was full of ups and downs,
But turns out you won the bet.
We started out small,
You seemed always in the lead,
We came back with a vengeance,
But in the end you were the ones to succeed.
Now we write this poem,
To tell you how great you are,
You were a great opponent,
Turns out your class is the real star.
You put up a great fight,
You brought in a ton of food,
You beat us fair and square,
But the Veterans are the ones in a great mood.
Sincerely,
5M
