This week we finished reading a book called Catching the Moon: A Story of a Young Girls Baseball Dream. The purpose of reading this book, was to learn what to do when we are reading something and we don't understand. We read the book together, and stopped quite frequently to ask questions, look at the pictures, to re-read a part, or to even act out a scene, to make sure we understood what was happening in the book. Modelling is really important when it comes to these techniques, and I hope that the students saw some of these strategies at work, and can transfer them into their own reading!
