Today we had a lesson about crumpling a piece of paper. Please ask students to explain the lesson to you, as I really hope they understood the meaning.
The paper started new and clean with no marks on it. We crumpled it and stepped on it, but once we tried to smooth it out, we found it couldn't be done, and the marks could not be removed.
This is what happens when we say words or do things that hurt other peoples feelings. We can't take back what we have said, and we can't make their page new again as the mark has already been made.
