A letter went home today about the Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (CCAT) that will be happening next week for all grade 4 students.
The CCATS are one of many assessment tools approved by Alberta learning. Overall the CCATS measure general thinking and problem solving and indicates how well the student can use these skills to solve verbal, quantitative and non-verbal problems. A student’s experiences in and out of school do influence this development. The scores are related to identifying how students learn, their strengths and areas of growth. The scores will be useful in identifying strategies that will assist the student in becoming a more effective learner. The CCAT consists of 3 thirty minute batteries one will be given each morning.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
